US-IRAN CONFRONTATION AFTER 9/11 ERA

INTRODUCTON

The event of 9/11 made profoundly various consequences within and outside the United States. The attack on the US homeland caused a shift in the national psyche, an unprecedented feeling of fear. This event ultimately shocked the American people, shattered the perception of mythical security of the US homeland and US citizens and facilitated the US administration to justify their pre planned actions to be implemented in terms of a war on terrorism.

The legitimization of clash of civilization was the one of the main impacts of the event of 9/ 11. By this trajectory of evangelistic psyche the Islamic West Asia was identifies as the vehement threat of the US and her citizens. The 9/11 was transformed as a golden chance for the neo- conservatives of United States to prepare for the hegemony of us over the west Asia militarily and diplomatic relations

IRAN IS ALLEGED

After the collapse of Soviet Union, United States of America was looking for a capable enemy .This politically seeking for an enemy led them to create categorization by Samuel P Huntington. Therefore many suspect the tragedy of the 9/ 11

Attack .for the creation of the new world order the Zionist backing the US administration of George w. bush declared the war on terror and they began to imply their theory to the West Asian countries particularly. They tailored Muslim countries’ participation in terrorism and especially the attack of 9/ 11. In the declaration of war on terror, President Bush unleashed the war on Afghanistan accusing the Taliban government of welcoming of Osama bin laden and destroyed that poor country. After the invasion and the putting a puppet government of Hamid karzai, Bush’s holy war went further to Iraq of Saddam Hussain in 2003.in this term the allegation was the non-exist weapon of mass destruction and the support of terrorism. But the real reason was the occupation of oil and the elimination of Saddam who was the close friend of US administrations for decades. Later on the US administration itself admitted the real factor of their motto of invasion of Iraq. There was nothing with the Saddam administration related to weapon of mass destruction but ruins of new clear equipments. in this arena Washington used some unprecedented terms for the target countries like’ rogue states’, ‘regime change’,’ pre-emptive strike’,’ axis of evil’ ,’ weapon of mass destruction’ and so called’ war on terrorism’. After the total demolition of both Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001 and 2003, Washington’s next focus was the Iran the largest adversary of the West Asia. After two years of invasion of Iraq, US is accusing a strong case that Iran is running a clandestine nuclear weapon program in violation of non-proliferation treaty and therefore international community must do a considerable pressure on Iran to either abandon nuclear program and all related or face the military action. Though the international atomic agency has reiterated that there was no proof that Iran is utilizing its nuclear facilities and other resources for a nuclear weapon program and US’s own national intelligence estimate categorically declared in December 2007 that Tehran does not have a nuclear weapon program and has not one since at least 2003, there is no change in the us policy against Iran. Iran’s specific character helped and accelerated the US administration to side to Iran’s cause.

THE ROOT OF CONFRONTATON

Long-term clash and confrontation with Islamic republic of Iran became its zenith by the event of 9/11. Transformation of Iran from the one of us pillar of regional security to sustainable enemy has history of 30 years. Islamic revolution uttered the US supremacy from the neck of Iran .In fact this was a real shock for the United States of America. The reason of now the belligerence of war with Iran lied in both powers’ 30 years confrontation of history.

The nuclear issue is the most controversial between US and Iran.US alleges that Iran tries to enrich the uranium for make the nuclear bomb not for the civilian necessities. It is the best the program for the nuclear energy in Iran was originally a gift of the US to the Shah whom they restored after the CIA –led coup in 1953.During the Cold War. Eisenhower’s US and Shah’s monarchial Iran signed their first civil nuclear agreement in 1957.Over the two decades, up to Islamic revolution under the leadership of Ayathullah Khomeini , the US provided Iran not only technical assistance and training but also its first experimental nuclear reactor, enriched uranium and plutonium with the fissile isotopes. The Shah was never ready to furnish any guarantees, not even a verbal commitment, that Iran would not use this technology for the development of nuclear weapons. The Ford administration approved in the mid-1970s the sale to Iran of up to eight nuclear reactors (with fuel) and then cleared the sale of the lasers with known capability for uranium enrichment. At that time Iran had no need for the nuclear energy for civilian purposes. These attempts were for his pursuit imperial dreams. He was very loyal ally and a friend of Israel. This factor led him to develop the nuclear weapons. The Shah refused to sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation (NPT). But the US and other power did support this venture of Shah.

After Islamic revolution Iran not only signed the NPT but also voluntarily submitted itself to international inceptions. after the declaration of war on terror Iran was upgraded as one of the three countries along with Iraq and North Korea comprising the Axis of Evil with variety of other countries such as Syria, Libya, Cuba .In 2003 after the invasion of Iraq the neo-cons declared objective was ‘First Baghdad, then Damascus, Tehran ,and Riyadh. In spite of all these crucial actions of US administration, strong defensive Iran refused the making of nuclear weapons ad called for the establishment of nuclear-free zone throughout West Asia whereby all countries, including Israel, would give up their nuclear weapons and open themselves up for international inception. This call gained enough momentum to materialize in the form of a draft resolution for the consideration of the Security Council in December 2003, but this was withdrawn by the veto power of America. It should be noted that there was no any response froth the so-called ‘International community to Iran’s call for nuclear free zone West Asia because the US as a protector of Israel and its nuclear arsenal, will not allow it, and other members of the Security Council, including the E.U.-3 will not press for it, thanks to their own collusion with the US-Israel axis.US administration really backs the security of Israel .Washington never do which harmful to the security of Israel. Israel has never confessed to having any nuclear weapons but western newspapers routinely describe it as the sixth largest nuclear power in the world, with over 200 nuclear warheads. Former IAEA CHIEF el-Baradei himself has said that his agency works on the assumption that Israel is a nuclear power, and the BBC recently broadcasted a program showing that Britain itself provided the heavy water which was used in Israel’s production of nuclear weapons .Assuring the security of Israel, US administration provides all kinds of support. But this double standard will cause far reaching consequences in the region.

THE HOSTAGE ISSUE

The hostage crisis was a nightmare inn history of United States of America. In November 1979, Ayathullah Khomeini’s supporters seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This action was perceived as a declaration of independent from western influence and was hailed as the second revolution and crippled the Carter administration and did not end until his successor, Ronald Reagan, took office in January 1981. In fact that action was the symbolic capture of Iranian mass over the US hegemony. This crisis still frightens the memory of US .The US foreign policy towards Iran tightened by this action.
